A low hum radiates from the white hot glow of the engine core as the craft swings in to an easy low earth orbit. From this stunning vantage, one can just make out the silhouette of a lone figure, sitting half lotus on a mountain ridge in the remote Canadian wilderness. As he strums an acoustic folk guitar, one cannot help but notice the hum of the engines has become the shimmering and orchestral voice of a modular synthesizer. Together in harmony, both the cosmic and the mundane. This is Pioneer II.
